Board of Directors

Andrea Eidelman, Esq, President/CEO

Andrea Paula Eidelman, Esq. is the President and CEO of Global Leadership in Oncology and Wellness, Corp., bringing decades of experience in nonprofit leadership, legal advocacy, and community service. She previously served nearly nine years as CEO of the largest stomach cancer organization in the United States, where she expanded programs, strengthened nationwide patient support, and elevated the organization’s international presence.

An accomplished attorney and former Legal Aid advocate, Ms. Eidelman has led major initiatives supporting vulnerable children and families and has worked extensively with community organizations across Broward County. Her background includes both legal and executive leadership roles that reflect a deep commitment to advancing health equity, nonprofit innovation, and community empowerment.

Ms. Eidelman’s educational foundation includes a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from St. Thomas University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from the University of Miami, where she earned multiple academic honors, including Dean’s List and Provost’s List distinctions. She also completed the Jim Moran Executive Nonprofit Leadership Program through Florida State University’s College of Business.

Born in Buenos Aires and raised in Miami, she is a native English speaker and fluent in Spanish. A passionate figure skating enthusiast, Ms. Eidelman lives in Fort Lauderdale with her husband, Dr. Frank Eidelman, and their cat, Toby. She has been a member in good standing of the Florida Bar since 1999.

Carissa Hocevar, CFRE, Board Member

Carissa Hocevar, CFRE, is a certified fundraising executive with 20 years of experience in development and membership management for nonprofit organizations.

Carissa began her professional career in Cancer Programs at the University of Virginia Health Foundation, working in fundraising campaigns, including high-profile events such as the groundbreaking ceremonies of Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center.

She later played key roles in non- profit organizations including: A statewide health education partner-ship; a 10,000-member national professional association, a regional cancer education nonprofit, and a new global charity registered in both the US and UK, where she was chief development officer for the global launch.

Carissa has traveled the country and the world to promote nonprofit and charitable organizations. Her expertise is in the areas of major donor and sponsor development,
event promotion, database management and strategic communications. She is passionate about advocacy and education for cancer patients and their families.
Since her own cancer diagnosis, Carissa has provided her expertise as a volunteer for a national cancer foundation, including in-person meetings with US Senators and
Members of Congress to raise awareness and promote cancer funding and research. Carissa serves as a volunteer on the GLOW board, as an advisor on database and IT management to expand GLOW’s data-driven programs.

She lives in Central Virginia with two spoiled cats. She looks forward to welcoming a medical-alert service dog to her home very in the very near future.

Frank Eidelman, MD, MBA VP and Treasurer

Dr. Frank Eidelman, MD, MBA, is a distinguished clinician–administrator whose career bridges advanced immunologic expertise with strategic medical leadership.

He earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from McGill University, completed his internship and internal medicine residency at the Royal Victoria Hospital, and specialized through a fellowship in allergy and clinical immunology at Montreal General Hospital, followed by post-graduate research in basic immunology at the University of California, San Diego. Recruited to Cleveland Clinic Florida, Dr. Eidelman established and now leads the Allergy and Immunology Program, focusing on complex immunological disorders.

Complementing his scientific and clinical accomplishments, he earned an MBA from the University of Florida and serves as Vice Chief of the Florida Medical Specialty Institute, applying his combined medical and business expertise to advance clinical excellence and innovative healthcare delivery.

Fernando Socol, Esq, Secretary

Fernando M. Socol was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1967 and has been living in Miami since 1972. He has been practicing immigration law for over 20 years (since 2000). Mr. Socol is the Managing Partner of the law firm, FERNANDO M. SOCOL, P.A. based in Miami, Florida.

Mr Socol focuses his practice on employment-based immigration, investor visas, and EB-5 cases. With over 20 years of experience as an attorney, Mr. Socol is also fluent in Spanish and English, which allows him to accurately explain the complex U.S. immigration system to Spanish-speaking immigrants.

Mr. Socol has experience working at large law firms and is consistently invited as a Guest Speaker on immigration law issues, internationally. Mr. Socol is a Member of the Florida Bar, the American Bar Association, anda Member of the American Immigration Lawyer’s Association (AILA) since the year 2000.

Through mentorship, nurse navigation, educational programs, and comprehensive resources, GLOW provides families with the guidance they need—from diagnosis through survivorship and every step in between.
